UPS vs Fed Ex vs Royal Mail – Which one is better?

Nowadays it is all about UPS and Fed Ex however it wasn’t always like this. It used to be the Royal Mail that was considered to be the best organisation to send packages and parcels, however times are changing. The Royal Mail is quickly losing respect amongst businesses because the operation is an absolute sham. Parcel and shipments go missing and can’t be traced, shipments are not being delivered within the specified time even though the charges are substantially more, and the cost of using the Royal Mail is increasing year on year. By charging customers more and failing to provide a good service the Royal Mail are ripping people off and they are starting to lose a lot of customers as a result.

The UPS logo - A symbol of quality and reliability
Instead of using Royal Mail many businesses are opting to use UPS or Fed Ex, simply because the service is so much better and the cost is only marginally more. Both the UPS and Fed Ex are very good companies, but which one is better and which one should small businesses use?
UPS is a decent logistics company that does everything it should. On the whole parcels and shipments are delivered on time, and if they aren’t you get an apology, an explanation and all additional costs reimbursed, as an absolute minimum. When Royal Mail fails to deliver on time you get nothing. With UPS you can manage your account on line, which effectively means its open twenty four seven, unlike the post office hours. One of the best things about having a UPS account online is the ability for tracking UPS shipments. At the press of a few buttons you can find out exactly where your shipment is and when it is due to be delivered to your customers, so you can maintain a good business relationship and keep them informed.
Fed EX is another decent logistics company, and just like UPS it does everything it should. Just like UPS with Fed Ex you can also maintain your account online which has all the usual benefits. Once again, one of the best features of the online account is the ability to tracing your deliveries and shipments through FedEx tracking. Fed ex tracking works in much the same way as tracking UPS parcels, and it is a very useful tool to ensure your customers are kept informed and kept happy.
Fed Ex - Another reliable courier firm
Having used both UPS and Fed ex choosing one over the other is difficult. Both companies offer the same services, both companies offer the same excellent levels of customer service, both companies deliver the shipments on time or compensate you in the rare cases when they fail to do so and both companies charge the same amount for providing the services, so choosing one over the other is like splitting hairs.
When dealing with these companies you need to be able to visit the store, therefore the UPS store locations and Fed ex store locations will have a significant influence on the final decision and as you’d expect the closer the better. There are UPS store locations throughout the world so to find the closest one to you simple go on the UPS website, go to the “locations” tab, tap in your location and your nearest UPS store locations will be displayed.  Similarly, to find your nearest Fed ex store locations you need to visit the Fed ex website, go to the “Find locations” tab, tap in your location and wait for the nearest Fed ex stores to be displayed. Ultimately, the decision on whether to use UPS or Fed ex will depend on which one is closest to you.
